International students whose temporary residence permit (TRP) based on studies expired in 2024 and who are currently staying in Estonia on the 270-day additional period may need to apply for a D-visa to remain in the country until thesis defense and graduation.

Attention! Considerable increase in thefts this spring
The in-house security service points out that with the arrival of spring, the number of thefts at the university has increased – in office or workspaces and bicycle racks. We ask everyone to be alert and take simple but effective precautions:
- Lock the doors of your workspaces. Make sure you lock the door even if you leave the room just for a moment. There have been instances where an employee left the room briefly, and while they were away, their wallet or other important items were stolen.
- Do not leave valuable items unattended. Please also remind your students not to leave wallets, phones, phones or keys in the cloakroom. If possible, take overcoats with you into the lecture hall.
- Lock your bicycle properly. Use a strong lock and remove valuable accessories (such as bike lights etc.) that are easy to remove. In roofed bicycle parking facilities, don’t forget to close the door behind you to prevent unauthorised persons from entering.
- If you notice anything suspicious in the building or around it, please immediately notify the university’s in-house security service on 737 5111.
Have a safe spring and summer!
